The soles of my feet were tattooed by Rinzing Thaptsangky, who also did my wrists. I have “amori miei” tattooed inside my lips by Wido de Marval and “arrache-coeur” on my feetīy Dan Sinnes. It took 50 hours to complete and it covers my pectorals, back, bum, back of thighs and arms. I am the lucky bearer of a back piece by Filip Leu, who later became my master (I am currently finishing my apprenticeship at The Leu Family’s Family Iron Street Shop in Lausanne, Switzerland.) We started it in 2003 That Sang Bleu is a project that can be expanded and transposed to any of the fields that the magazine deals with. We’ve also been developing other activities such as curation and book publishing, and I am about to open a real “online” version of the magazine. I started to receive contributionsįrom all over the world. I find it interesting but frustrating when fashion brands and contemporary artists reference tattooing, but in very superficial and obvious way.Īs soon as I started to work on Sang Bleu, it drew an unexpectedly high degree of interest from people who seemed to have been hoping for more experimental and “crossover” publications. I started skateboarding in the late 80’s, When I was a kid, I belonged to so-called “underground,” “sub” or “counter” cultures. They are fundamentally linked to youth culture.

It is a vision the collaborators and readers of Sang Bleu share, I think. with such a dedication and passion that we would risk our lives (and our money) for it. Like a friend of mine says: “I want to make art like we used to make graffiti: hardcore.” He means “hardcore” not in the pornographic sense, but hard-to-the-core But I always made the effort to integrate all those fields, and art always I studied science in high school, then psychology at the university and then graphic design and typography at ECAL in Switzerland. I don’t come from a very artistic family, although we all had a certain taste for art, and especiallyįor literature. But it had been an omnipresent idea for years before that. It officially began in London, where I used to live, in 2006.
